Custom Databases
Search the Web Site Database:
The Web Site Database is a resource that lists food-related web sites.
The box below lists information that will be shown in the search results. Uncheck any items that you do not want included in the results. An item box may be unchecked by clicking the checkmark in the box once with the mouse pointer. This will remove the checkmark from the box. Conversely, if a box were not checked and you wished to include the item in the search, clicking the empty box once with the mouse pointer would place a checkmark in the box.

Hints
for Successful Searching
Enter
in a search term or phrase and click Submit. A list of matching MSU
keywords or pages will be displayed. For best results, follow these
examples:
To
search for all topics use the "+" symbol. For example, if
searching for articles with both apples and oranges type the following
in the search field:
+apples
+oranges
To
search for a topic minus articles within that topic use the "-"
symbol. For example, if searching for articles about cheese without
listing any articles about cheddar type the following in the search
field:
cheese -cheddar
To
search for a phrase use the quotation marks. For example, if searching
for articles about a tuna fish sandwich type the following in the search
field:
"tuna fish sandwich"
To
search for a topic that may have variance use the "*" symbol
to serve as a wild card. For example, some websites may use different
spellings of the word "color." Type the following in the search
field:
colo*r
This
search will generate articles using the spellings "color"
or "colour"” Also, depending on the placement of the
"*" the wild card can serve as a multi-character placeholder.
For example, if searching for articles containing the word color that
may have differing ends type the following in the search field:
color*
This
search will generate articles containing the words "colors"
and "colorful."
