Food Recalls

Recalls are voluntary actions carried out by industry in cooperation with Federal and State agencies. Products are recalled when they are found to be contaminated, adulterated, or misbranded (Recall Information Center, 2001).

The following web sites post the latest food recalls:

USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service

FDA Recalls and Safety Alerts

Open Federal Cases for USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service

You can learn more about recalls by viewing the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service fact sheet on Food Recalls or by visiting the Recall Information Center.
